This view of the Corrolla/Currituck lighthouse is an awesome sight. I felt small looking up at the162 foot tall structure. The lighthouse was built in 1875 in which the construction of it used over a million red bricks. The outer bank lighthouses served as a very needed navigation aid to ships traveling in the Atlantic Ocean near the coastline of the outer bank islands.
I am a painter and love the processes and the creation of a painting. As a child growing up I had a natural tendency to draw and build things. I spent most of my working life in the technical field, but the yearning to fulfill my desire to draw and paint was strong, and I found my real passion was to paint. With the gracious support of my wife Carolyn, painting full time became a reality. For me, painting is a gift from God, and the ultimate release of creativity. I paint subjects that catch my eye or from my imagination and don't specialize in any particular area of painting; but, want to make every one of my works special.
