About Jimmie Bartlett
I love art, the processes, and the creation. As a child growing up I had a natural tendency to draw and build things. I spent most of my working life in the technical field, but the yearning to fulfill my desire to draw was strong, and I found my real passion was to paint. With the gracious support of my wife Carolyn, painting full time became a reality. For me, painting is a gift from God, and the ultimate release of creativity. I think everyone should try painting at least once in their life.
As a native Texan, my work is Texas influenced and has been sold at shows, shops, and over the internet. Carolyn and I started our arts/crafts business, "The Bartlett Pair," in 1993 and are still at it. We like the travel and doing the shows.
I paint things that catch my eye or from my imagination, and I don't specialize in any particular area of painting; but, want to make every one of my works special. I enjoy all of it: from taking photographs one day and on to painting landscapes or portraits the next day. Some from photo references and others just the brush, paint and imagination. My goal is to paint as well as I can, as much as I can, everyday. My wife and I are also amateur photographers and striving to improve our skills in photography art.
