I finished the Ocracoke Island Lighthouse painting today 7/13/19 and reached the vision goal I had when we visited the outer banks in May. I knew this would make a great painting as there is a brick and plaster covering the body of the structure creating a rough surface appearance. I took a lot of photos for reference and enjoyed every minute of the work. I used a palette knife to create texture with blends to show the brights and shadows. I hope you like the art work.

I am a painter and love the processes and the creation of a painting. As a child growing up I had a natural tendency to draw and build things. I spent most of my working life in the technical field, but the yearning to fulfill my desire to draw and paint was strong, and I found my real passion was to paint. With the gracious support of my wife Carolyn, painting full time became a reality. For me, painting is a gift from God, and the ultimate release of creativity. I paint subjects that catch my eye or from my imagination and don't specialize in any particular area of painting; but, want to make every one of my works special.
