One of my first landscapes. Lots of distance behind the foreground. The windmill is located on the beach close to Matagorda, Texas and used to provide water for cattle. East Matagorda Bay is behind the windmill and the Gulf of Mexico in front.
I am a painter and love the processes and the creation of a painting. As a child growing up I had a natural tendency to draw and build things. I spent most of my working life in the technical field, but the yearning to fulfill my desire to draw and paint was strong, and I found my real passion was to paint. With the gracious support of my wife Carolyn, painting full time became a reality. For me, painting is a gift from God, and the ultimate release of creativity. I paint subjects that catch my eye or from my imagination and don't specialize in any particular area of painting; but, want to make every one of my works special. I enjoy all of it: from taking photographs one day and on to painting landscapes or portraits the next day. ...
